Costa – Hazelnut Praline Latte (Coconut Milk)
Another one of Costa’s yearly staples. I’ve never been impressed by this one, it’s just a glorified hazelnut latte. My opinion hasn’t really changed. If that’s your thing, then great.
I took advantage of the free alternative milks again and got this with coconut, and it was quite pleasant. It enhanced the nuttiness. But honestly I found the start of this drink rather unpleasant. Much like the first sip of whiskey and coke, it isn’t great, but by the end of the glass you’re quite enjoying it. In this case it’s probably the sugar rush rather than any booze.
My biggest problem was a thick layer of powder at the bottom. I’m honestly not sure what it was, but it wasn’t good. I threw the remaining sludge in the bin rather than force it down and had no sense of regret, except perhaps over the price I paid for a rather dull drink.
7/10 – It’s a bloody hazelnut latte. If that’s your thing, you’ll probably like it. If it isn’t, then don’t buy one. Didn’t make me feel very Christmassy.
